Shotgun Trap

Director: Steve Glasgow

New for 2017 was the grand opening celebration of the Bear Creek Trap Range which was August 5th from 9-11:00 AM and is located at 1157 US HWY 6, Malcom. This is a 2 field trap range that is now added to the clubs facilities.

The other PCSA Shotgun Trap facility is situated next to the club’s indoor range in rural Poweshiek County. The trap houses are equipped with Promatic trap machines that provides challenging shooting for shotgun trap enthusiasts.

The PCSA will host high-school trap shooters from BGM (which includes members from HLV and Belle Plaine), during the school year (every Friday from 1st week in March – 1st week in June from 4:30-8:00 PM), providing them with both the opportunity to shoot and to learn from experienced PCSA trainers and coaches from the schools.

The trap machines are available at other times for use by PCSA members who have taken a short instruction session and are approved to use the machines on their own.  Members should contact Steve Glasgow to schedule an instruction session.
